Meet up with Miu Miu!

When I was in Seoul, I got to meetup with Millie / MiuMiu!

I seriously like her pictures better than mine!!!!

Millie is such a sweet girl and I am so lucky to have got the chance to meet her!

We were so busy talking that we forgot to take a picture until AFTER we finished eating!
I forgot to take pictures of the scenery in downtown Seoul because we were too busy talking!!!
I loved getting to meet Millie and I had a GREAT time!!!

And here are some lovely gifts from her!!
B&C Apple Hand cream!
What a cute container!!!

Nature Reflections Nail Polish!
Thanks again, Millie for coming out to meet me!
I had a FANTASTIC time!!!!
Hope to see you soon in Japan!!!
Yes, I did A LOT of damage while I was in Seoul!!!
I was so scared that I made Millie uncomfortable with all the things I bought!
I have so much stuff that it needs its own post... Stay tuned!

GIVEAWAY WINNERS!

Thank you again for participating in my contest!

I was originally going to buy just a few things while in Korea, but after looking at the list, I will be buying 80% of the things that were suggested!
My shopping list now has $150 worth of Korean products!!!!

But unfortunately, I cannot make everyone a winner...
I have to pick a few people...

I copied all of the comments to a word file, deleted all of the names (to be fair), and read through the recommendations. The winners are the ones who REALLY stood out!

Here are the winners:

1st place - Anastacia for The Face Shop Clean Face Oil Free BB cream! I was so excited to try this! BUT... I couldn't find it!!!!

2nd place - Blair for The Skin Food Fermented Pomegranate Whitening Sleeping Mask! I am in LOVE with sleeping masks and YES I'm looking for whitening things!

Honorary mention - Sarah (yousquishedmypuppy) for the EXTENSIVE suggestions INCLUDING prices!!!! Thank you for taking the time to look up prices for me! This is very important for me!!!!

Also... Sabine please contact me!!!!!

Please email me with your name and mailing address by July 3!
I am currently in China on a business trip so I will ship the prizes when I get back !

Quick post while waiting at the airport!

Hey everyone!

I'm at Kansai Airport waiting for my flight right now!

I'm off to Tianjin, China... AGAIN. This will probably be my last trip there for some time!

But before that, I'm going to spend one day in Seoul!

Thank you to everyone who suggested something for me to buy!

I tried to control my spending (obviously I don't need 29479564736 BB creams!) but I know I'll buy more than what's on this list!

My shopping list!
I've blurred it a bit so as not to give away the fun of my (upcoming) haul post!

Closed! SMALL GIVEAWAY: What should I buy in Seoul?

My giveaway is closed! Thank you so much!!

I'm going to Seoul on Sunday, June 21.

(Yes, this time it's for REAL!!!!)

I need your advice. What should I buy?????? It's a super general question, I know.
I've decided to make it into a giveaway, a la Jamilla.

I emailed her and she was sooooo sweet and let me borrow her idea!
SOOOO here's my SUPER QUICK, SUPER EASY giveaway!!!

What you need to do:
Please suggest a Korean product for me to buy in Seoul!

Deadline: Saturday June 20, 11:59 Japan Standard time
Yes, around noon, not midnight!
(click here to see the time in your location)

The 1st place winner will receive this:
Lux Super Damage Repair Hair treatment!!!
(I will get a new, unopened one of course!!!!)

The 2nd place winner will receive this:

Mandom Barrier Repair Mask Hyaluronic Acid(5 sheets)!!

Here's how it goes:
1. This contest is open to anyone following my blog! Not following me yet? Click the "follow" button! Please follow me publicly!

2. In the comments, please suggest a beauty-related product for me to buy in downtown Seoul

3. Anything is OK!!!! I am on the lookout for BB creams, primers, pressed powders, and any skin care items (lotions, emulsions, masks, etc), but I'm open to anything!

4. Please suggest an affordable product! I'd say I'd buy things which are under 20,000 Korean Won (about $16 USD). Not sure of the price? Suggest it anyway!
5. Please suggest a Korean product. I'm not going to buy Fancl/Kate/MajoMajo/etc since I can get that in Japan!
6. Please be as specific as you can. "Why don't you try the Skinfood Banana Yogurt Mask?" is much clearer to me than "Why don't you try one of the Skinfood wash off masks?" (I already have the Banana Yogurt Mask as well as the Kiwi Yogurt Mask)
Some questions you might ask me:
Q: "I don't know what to suggest!"
A: If there are any Korean products which you want to try, or that you've tried and you like, please suggest them to me!

Q: "I don't know how much this product is in Won! It's $30 on ebay though!"
A: Korean things will probably be cheaper in Korea! Please suggest it anyway!

Q: "I think this is a great product, but it's an eyeshadow/lipgloss/etc"
A: Sure, suggest it to me!

This is just a great chance for me to thank everyone who has befriended me on blogger!
Thank you so much for your love!!!

Hope you have fun thinking of a product for me!!!
xoxo, K
PS: I will try to announce the winners on June 23, but I may be late... I will go on to China from Seoul and as you know, I have very, very limited access to blogger there!!!!!!!

quick love from Jamilla Camel!

This is some quick love I got from Jamilla!

Jamilla picked me as a 3rd honorable mention for her 100 followers giveaway! I suggested Chanel Glossimer in Cosmos, which Aichaku also suggested. I'm so happy that Jamilla liked the gloss and has kindly shown it in a lot of her posts!

Look at all the generous gifts she sent me!!!

A super cute card with cats
Molton Brown body lotion/cream in yuzu and yuan zhi!

I've never tried Molton Brown products before, but a quick google search showed that they are pretty popular in the UK. I have already tried the yuzu body lotion and it smells so nice!

The body lotions were more than enough, but look at how generous Jamilla is!!!!

Molton Brown body lotion & shower gel (travel size)
Lancome Color Fever Gloss in 321 Dangerously Pink
DiorKiss Luscious Lip Plumping Gloss in Mango Soda and Lime Glace

Thank you again Jamilla!
I can't wait to try everything out!

TAG! Letter to my 16 year old self

I got tagged by aichaku!

Letter to my 16 year old self:

Kay (16 years old and in high school),

Work hard, and you WILL make it. Think about what you want to achieve, and think about how you can take action to make it happen. If it is important enough to you, you will make it.

Don’t take crap from other people. You aren’t going to make everyone happy. Think about what is best for you in your life.

Take it from me – you’re going to be fine!

Much Love, Kay

PS: Trust me, Japanese snacks aren’t that good… so cut down on the snacking!

Jewelry: Lapis Lazuli

I AM BACK IN JAPAN!!!!
I have MISSED blogger/youtube SOOOOO much!!!
------------------------
Lapis Lazuli:

The ancient Romans believed it was a powerful aphrodisiac. In the Middle Ages, people thought it would free the soul from error, envy and fear.
(thanks, wikipedia for the info!)
I just think it is BEAUTIFUL.

Isn't this a beautiful necklace????

Such an intense blue... and the perfect length that goes so well with what I normally wear...

Where did I get this necklace?
It was a BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM MY BEST FRIEND!
I wrote about him before here.

Yeah, you read that right. A MAN picked out this set for me. He bought it for me while he was on a business trip to Chile (where some of the best quality lapis are mined).

You wanna know what else was in that set?

A beautiful pair of earrings...
(yes, I have a lot of piercings. Yes, I LOOOOVE earrings)

A beautiful matching bracelet...

My birthday was in March, but I hadn't worn these pieces before. They looked so beautiful in the box that I was terrified of losing them!!! OMG they are even more beautiful then I imagined!!!!

Let's take a closer look at that bracelet, shall we?

OOOH LOOK at the OTHER BEAUTIFUL BRACELET!!

It was a Christmas present from the SAME person!

I'm a lucky girl! I have a best friend who has FANTASTIC taste!

Side note: When I explained to him about swapping, he actually understood why I enjoyed shopping and finding stuff for other girls. Yeah, he likes shopping that much!

Oh dear, I need to wear this set more often! It is truly beautiful!!! Thank you so much!

Do you have any jewelry which you simply adore? (aside from wedding rings/engagement rings)

EOTD: gold & purple, and lighting help!!

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice before on how to take a picture of your EOTD.
I was like, "why should I take it in front of a mirror???", but once I tried it, DUH!

I'm still having problems with my lighting.

In the morning, the sunlight is too bright in my room and it washes out my eyeshadow.
Here are some afternoon pics for comparison!

By the way, the eyeshadow is much much much darker in person. I have no idea why it does not show up AT ALL in the pics!!!!

Natural light
(near a window)

Artificial light
(my living room with the light on)

With Flash

So which one did you like the best?

Oh yeah... What I used:
- cream shadow as primer
- EDM Hot Chocolate all over
- Kate Gradical Eyes WN-1 on outer corner
- Kate Gel Eyeliner GN-1
- Cover Girl Volume Exact Mascara

xoxo, K
