Review: Lush Honey I Washed the Kids soap

Pin It This is a review for Lush’s Honey I Washed the Kids soap.  This soap is called Mitsubachi March ("Honeybee's March") in Japan.
(from lush.co.jp)

(the bottom soap is Honey I Washed the Kids)

What it does:
Once you've unwrapped this mouth-watering toffee scented soap, you'll immediately want to wash yourself all over with it - and then wash your honey, and then the kids and maybe even gran if she's lucky. With masses of honey and aloe, this delectable bar is perfect for washing the whole family, even those with sensitive skin. Topped with a slice of beeswax and infused with bergamot and sweet orange to lift spirits right up into honey-heaven.
(from lushusa.com)

Price: 2.95 GBP/100g in the UK, 7.95 USD/3.5 oz in the US, and 480 JPY/100g in Japan.
By weight, this means $0.047/g in the UK, $0.08/g in the US, $0.058/g in Japan.  As you can see, this is much cheaper in Japan than in the US!

Scent: smells sweet, and the scent is very strong. I put an unwrapped bar in my bathroom, and the next morning, the entire bathroom smelled of this soap! I strongly recommend going to a Lush store to smell this product in advance.

Pros:
- Good lather
- Not harsh, and cleans well
- Personally, I really liked the scent. It’s sweet, but the scent of bergamot and sweet orange kept it from being cloyingly sweet

Cons:
- Although it is not drying, it is not moisturizing. Even though it contains aloe and honey, I needed to use a moisturizer.
- Melts very quickly, like many Lush soaps. It will melt if kept in a warm or humid place like your shower, even if you do not use it. I cut my soap in half and kept one half in a cool, dark place.

Would I repurchase? Yes, although I really want to try other soaps first!

Hope you enjoyed my review!

xoxo, K

  2. Thanks for the review K! I'll agree that this bar is highly fragranced! I smelled it in the Lush store. I was very much interested in this soap which is why I was waiting for your review. Aww, I was hoping that it would be nicely moisturizing but apparently not. I think that I will try and buy it the next time I'm near the Lush store.
