Review: Lush Herbalism Cleanser

This is a review of the Lush Herbalism Cleanser!

What it does:

Purifying and exfoliating herbal cleansing roll wash. Best used on oily and problem skin. Herbalism is a green, squidgy, putty-like paste made from powdered herbs, which are actually perfect for the skin. Herbalism cleanses with China clay, exfoliates with ground almonds, revives the skin with rosemary, uses nettle powder to purge your toxins and chamomile to soothe the surface.

(From the Lush UK website)

UK: 5.50 GBP / 100g = $7.96 / 100g = $0.08/g
US: $10.75 / 3.5oz = $10.75 / 99.22g = $0.11/g
Japan: 1080 JPY / 80g = $11.88 / 80g = $0.15/g

- a bit less abrasive than Angels on Bare Skin
- less crumbly than Angels on Bare Skin

- smells like mustard (I think it is the nettle in the ingredients)
- I didn't feel that it "purged my skin of toxins"

As you can see, I was comparing this to Angels on Bare Skin as I used it.  It is a similar product in that you mix it with a little water and rub your skin with it.  It made my skin a bit smoother, similar to using AoBS.  I personally prefer AoBS, since it smells nicer with the same sort of effects, and is a bit cheaper.

Do you have any recommendations on what products from Lush I should try next?  Please recommend something to me!
- I don't like Lush's bath bombs (too greasy and too messy!)
- I've tried AoBS (love!), Dark Angels (too abrasive!), Mask of Magnaminty (love!  A review is coming up!), Brazen Honey Fresh Face mask (LOVE!!!), and the Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask (eh...), and I'm looking to try something new!

Hope that helped, and I'm looking forward to hearing your recommendations!!!

New Visee Palettes!

Visee has released a few limited edition items!
They are a collaboration with Mercury Duo, a clothing brand!
(click here to see clothes from Mercury Duo)

These are released in stores on March 23, but I saw them last weekend!

The items are two eyeshadow quads and a mascara!

1680 JPY (about $18.50)
The eyeshadows are a limited edition of the Brilliance Forming Eyes line!
I really like this line!
One of the quads is a bronze - blue combination which reminded me of a certain Guerlain palette.  The other quad is a pretty smokey gray palette.
The polka dot packaging is so cute!

1575 JPY (about $17.50)

This is a waterproof mascara, with the same pretty packaging!
What do you think about this collection?

On a similar note, Sleek has a new iDivine palette - the Bohemian palette!
I wish I were in the UK where I could take a look at this palette in person!!

This was on my wishlist!
It's much stiffer than I thought it would be, which is a different from my other brushes!

I read somewhere that this can be a good primer, and I wanted to try it out before I forked over the $30-40 for a Smashbox primer!

Neutrogena Body Oil
This will come in handy since my skin is still dry from the cold weather!

Neutrogena facial soap
I didn't know they had a travel size of this, either!

Yet another body lotion for me to try!

Chocolates and green tea mixes!

Thank you, Lulu, for your generous gifts!
You've knocked off so many things from my wishlist!

Comparison: Lush Angels on Bare Skin - UK & US vs Japan

I recently finished up the Lush Angels on Bare Skin that I bought while I was in London!
There are so many great reviews out there, so I thought I'd do something a little different!

First, here are some pics!

The US/UK version - from the Lush website
You can see that it's got black bits (bits of flowers), and it's a pretty stiff paste.

The Japan version - from google search (sorry, not my pic!)
The Japan version doesn't have any black bits and it looks like it was squeezed out of a tube.

Do you see it?  It's obviously very different!

I talked a little bit with the SA at my local Lush, and she told me that they have a different formula for Japan!

Differences between UK/US version
- no flower bits (apparently too many people complained about the flower bits clogging up their drains!)
- much creamier! With the UK version, it was really crumbly and I really had to moisten it, but the Japan version is creamy and mixes much easier with water!
- less abrasive! Somewhat related to being creamier, the Japan version seemed to be finer milled.

Price comparison:
- UK: 5.50 GBP/100 g = $8.34/3.53 oz = $2.36/oz
- US: $9.95/3.5 oz = $2.84/oz
- Japan: 780 yen/80g = $8.63/2.82 oz = $3.06/oz (but I suspect that there is more moisture = less product!)

I tried the Japan version in the store.  Even though it's a lot smoother/creamier, it still exfoliates well and makes my skin smooth!

I personally prefer the US/UK version!  I've perfected my technique on mixing it with water, and I use less of it than the Japan version!

Hope that helped!

Pieces of me... in March 2010!

First off, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for their sweet birthday wishes!
My birthday was Mar 7, this past Sunday!! Your love means so much to me!!!!

I jumped on this tag bandwagon hosted by Notes from the Toothfairy!

I like: one month until I'm going to NYC!!!!  The best part?  Meet up with blogger girls!!

I don't like: the incredible, incredible stress I've been under.  I need to destress!

I want you to know: that as long as I can plan my actions, I'll be OK even under stress

I've planned: to have MAJOR fun during my NYC trip!

I want to say to someone special: Thank you to all the well wishes I've received when I started complaining about this stress!  It really means a lot to me!

Food Post - Starbucks Sakura Series

Starbucks Japan has come out with their Sakura series!  It's a limited edition line to celebrate the start of the cherry blossom (sakura) season!

The picture above is of the Sakura Cream Frappucino but there is also a Sakura Steamer!  FYI - I got a frappucino in the short size, which is no longer on the menu but you can still ask for it!  I really can't finish a frappucino even in the tall size!!

It was pretty yummy!  It tastes like a vanilla cream frappucino with sakura flavoring!

Here are the official pics!

Winner - 1 year blogversary giveaway!

Wow, next time I'm going to pick an easier topic for a giveaway!
It was REALLY difficult to pick a winner!!

The majority of answers were along the lines of "I found Mona/Fuz 's blog and I realized other girls liked makeup like I did, and so I wanted to join the community!"

Yes, many girls mentioned Mona and Fuz by name!!!

SOOOO here is the winner!!!

Congratulations to Lulu!

I've sent you an email!

Here is part of Lulu's comment, which is really how I feel right now!

"I am so glad I've joined blogging now, because I've made so many wonderful friends who share the same interests as me, and even though none of us had known each other before, but it always felt like we've known each other for a long time already every time we start talking, it's such a great feeling. And it's such a comforting place to be after a sucky day, to go home and read beauty blogs and chat up with blogger ladies on Twitter, because everyone's so nice, helpful, and encouraging!"

I've been going through a rough patch lately, so I am REALLY thankful for the love and support from blogger girls!

Thanks again to everyone who joined my giveaway and took the time to write a comment!
And thank you for being part of this loving, supporting community!!!

xoxo, K
