What it does:
A complexion enhancer that makes skin look instantly refreshed, radiant, and glowing.
NARS Orgasm Illuminator lights your skin from within! Deceptively sheer and decidedly luminous, it magically transforms lackluster skin into a remember-me, luscious complexion. Flirt with foundation, go it alone, or go neck-and-neck with your décolleté. The effect is, well, orgasmic.
(from Sephora.com)
Price: $29, according to Sephora.com
Pros:
- Can be used multiple ways. I liked to use it as a highlight.
- A subtle glow that can be added before or after foundation
- Runny and easy to blend
Cons:
- This does not show up well on my cheeks. I would recommend it to someone who is paler than me (I'm NC25 in MAC).
- This is so liquidy that I felt it rubbed off my foundation
- Not very pigmented when blended, see swatches below
Looks promising right out of the tube...
Can you see it? It is not very pigmented, both in the color and the shimmer. You could make it work if you used a little bit on your cheeks, let it dry, and then reapplied.
Would I repurchase? No, for $29 I would rather purchase something with either more color or more shimmer.
This was my first NARS product, and I really wanted to like it. However, it did not live up to its price tag. I like it well enough that I will be using it up.
What is your favorite highlight?
xoxo, K

Hey dear! Have you seen that NARS have released more of these? I nearly got the Copacabana BUT ended up getting the RBR one on my blog today instead and I am so glad that I did.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your review on this product. I think the only time I will use this is on holiday when I put a bit in with my sun lotion for extra KAPOW in the beach x
This sounded like it had lots of potential, its a shame it doesn't show up on you. I have NARS orgasm pressed blush and it shows up on me, but I am just a touch lighter than you NC20. I wonder if when I get tenner in the summer if it will not show up as much.
ReplyDeleteoh dear, i found this orgasm illuminator to be pretty disappointing really. it's the worst product from nars...
ReplyDeletehave you tried nars powder blushes? :) those and the e/s duos are worth trying imo!
I was actually looking at this the other day! not bueno lol
ReplyDeleteIt looks good! but personally, i would rather buy the blush version for Orgasm..

Hm, I think this is really meant to be a highlighter only and not a blush, which is misleading since it's called Orgasm. I had the best results when I actually dabbed it on with a stiff fluffy brush (I used my MAC 109SE). I far prefer the MAC Lustre Drops to this though.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, love your title.Orgasm in a tube =)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, NARS is very pricey and sometimes I doubt if it's worth it
I didn't think about mixing it with my sun lotion! I need to try that, it sounds great!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the Orgasm blush. I was going to buy it during my last trip to the US, but I decided I should use up some of my blushes first!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree! What's your favorite NARS blush?
ReplyDeletedude, I agree!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting. I agree!
ReplyDeleteYes, I tried the Lustre Drops and I found them to be more pigmented!
ReplyDeleteI agree. This product was definitely not worth the price tag.
