I have the UD pencil in Zero, and the Milani pencil in black.
UD eyeliner on the left, Milani eyeliner on the right
Price: Urban Decay - $18, Milani - $5.50
Swatches: As you can see from the swatches, the Milani eyeliner is a darker eyeliner
Urban Decay on the left, Milani on the right
Pros of the Milani
- Much cheaper to Urban Decay
- More pigmented (although apparently UD has a more pigmented black eyeliner called Perversion)
- The Milani eyeliner smudged slightly on my lower line, while the UD did not smudge at all
- Creamier and easier to apply than the Milani, although the Milani is also very creamy
- Both eyeliners lasted on my top line the same.
- The Milani eyeliner gets an A+ rating on Temptalia, while the UD eyeliner gets an A rating.
- Milani products are not sold at all drugstores and may be harder to find
Conclusion: I'm still on a journey to find a cheap eyeliner that doesn't smudge on me!
Hope you enjoyed this review!

Thx for your review! I actually like the Milani one better not just because its cheaper because its more pigmented and its creamier, I always have a hard time applying the UD one.
ReplyDeleteI just sent someone Milani liquid eyeliner because she said that she really liked it. The most liquid I can get with eyeliner is the eyeliner pens so I can't tell you how the Milani liquid eyeliner is. It is waterproof though.
ReplyDeleteWith that said, I recently bought a bunch of Milani baked blushes and am really liking them. Those have been compared with NARS but I'm not too convinced.
I have heard Milani is quite good but I really haven't tried the brand yet for eyeliner! thanks for the review!!!
ReplyDeletei appreciate this post!
ReplyDeleteanother good drugstore dupe would be prestige total intensity liner.
i like to try milani soon. ;)
oh never would have believed that anything Milani could be good.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it's 100% sure neither of the above liners would be able to stay on my lids, upper or lower doesn't matter XD
thanks for the post! sounds like I can skip Milani.
ReplyDeleteI really recommend the NYX Slide On Pencils - very creamy, waterproof, smudge proof, and CHEAP!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for the review! :3
ReplyDeleteI love love loooove UD pencils. I hate their prices but they seem to be the only liners that don't run on me. But who knew Milani's pencil could be so dark. Of course now I need to buy it. ;)
ReplyDeleteI really like the Milani one. To keep it from smudging I let it set for abt 10 sec then top it off w/ e/s. ^____^ Never tried the UD one before, but the MUFE one is good too, but the Miliani one goes on smoother for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post. I think I would like to try the Liquif'eye before UD as UD is so much more expensive. I heard the Nyx Slide-On pencils are of similar quality as well!
